No we are not leaving it this way...

We are really humbled by the positive comments and support! To clear up some rumours being spread by some negative people, who I assume are just missinformed.

  1. Yes we do have plans... The inspector is Mr Levendall 0844410125
  2. No we are not leaving it looking like containers.
  3. Yes, you can get a bank loan. As long as it is NHBRC  approved, which it will be on completion, the banks will lend the money.
  4. We are unsure as to the finishes just yet.
  5. Yes it will look just like a normal house, if anything some people will be dissapointed that it is not going to be a super modern look.
  6. It is so rusty it is going to fall part!!! No it is not! Containers are designed to stay on the sea for their lifespan, in the most corrosive environment known to man. Weathering steel, often referred to by the "genericized" trademark CORTEN steel, is a group of steel alloys which were developed to eliminate the need for painting, and form a stable rust-like appearance if exposed to the weather for several years. The corrosion-retarding effect of the protective layer is produced by the particular distribution and concentration of alloying elements in it. The layer protecting the surface develops and regenerates continuously when subjected to the influence of the weather. In other words, the steel is allowed to rust in order to form the protective coating. That said we will further protect it by wrapping it in thick plastic and providing a good insulation.
